Innovation is inevitable in developing countries. Technology that is elegant, inexpensive, and that creates meaningful impact for end users might be one way to define “frugal innovations”. Questions asked on this episode aim to explore the impact that frugal innovations can have for policy makers, and possible solutions for overcoming challenges in scaling up frugal innovations, for example. This week’s guests are:

Professor Joseph Wong – Ralph and Roz Helbert Professor of Innovation and Canada Research Chair in Democratization, Health and Development – University of Toronto

Dr. Onil Bhattacharyya – Frigon-Blau Chair in Family Medicine Research at Women’s College Hospital

Remi Kanji – Co-Founder of Obatech
