Leaders in Youth Mental Health: A Conversation with Norma Nicholson

Within the past five years, the topic of mental health has been pushed to the top of our minds. 10 – 20% of Canadian youth have or will experience a mental health issue. Only 1 in 5 will receive the support they need. Movements such as the Jack Project, and Bell Canada’s Let’s Talk campaign aim to open up discussion about mental health and mental illness. At the level of public policy, the Ontario Government recently released an update on its Comprehensive Strategy on Addictions and Mental Health.

Do these movements and public policies increase access to mental health services for the children and youth who need it most?
