Sanya is from Mauritius, but grew up in South Africa and Madagascar. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from McGill University, where her coursework and internships, focused on Economic Development, motivated her to apply to SPPG to pursue her interest in International Development. Passionate about the power of change through creating awareness, Sanya is excited to join the BTH team. Her interests include travelling, food, and health and fitness.
Policy interests: Foreign Policy, International Development, Global Health Policy and Gender Issues within Public Policy.
Jean-Paul was born in Calgary and holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University in International Development Studies, Spanish and Economics. His experiences in the human services sector and abroad have influenced his broad range of policy interests including social policy, health policy and foreign policy. In particular, he is interested in the influence of stakeholders outside of government on the creation of policy. Eager to create a policy process that involves a wide gradient of stakeholders, Jean-Paul is delighted to be working with BTH to bring people into the conversation on policy. In his free time, he enjoys making playlists and attempting to find his way around Toronto.

Hiba Siddiqui obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, where she studied Political Science, Sociology and Diaspora and Transnational Studies. Hiba is interested in the social and urban mechanisms that influence public policy as well as how policy can cultivate arts and culture projects. In her free time, you can find Hiba documenting her travels and photographing intricacies of the city.

Mitch was born in Grimsby, Ontario and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Studies and French Studies from Queen’s University in 2017. He has a broad-range of policy interests that include environmental and climate policy, LGBTQ policy, Indigenous affairs, and energy policy. Mitch is thrilled to be on the BTH Social Media Team this year; in his free time, he enjoys making music, doing improv, and socializing with friends!
