  • Auddri Jannatul

    Executive Director

    Auddri serves as the co-leader of Beyond the Headlines (BTH). Originally from Bangladesh and raised in Saskatoon, SK, Auddri relocated to Toronto to complete a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Toronto. Motivated by a commitment to community impact, she is currently pursuing a Master's in Public Policy. Beyond her academic and leadership responsibilities, Auddri enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, reading, and painting. Known for her approachable demeanor, she encourages open dialogue and is always open to connect on various topics.

  • Daniyal Zuberi

    Faculty Advisor

    Daniyal Zuberi is Professor of Social Policy at the University of Toronto with a joint appointment at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Previously, he was the William Lyon Mackenzie King Research Fellow at Harvard University and a faculty member at the University of British Columbia. His research, recognized by the Michael Harrington Award and induction into the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, focuses on urban poverty, inequality, health, and social welfare. Professor Zuberi has published extensively on the impact of public policy on disadvantaged populations, advocating for reforms to improve social welfare. His current research examines social policy, healthcare, labour, education, and immigration. He also served as Director of the Master of Public Policy program from 2020 to 2022 and is the current faculty advisor for Beyond the Headlines.

  • Julia Brahy

    Executive Director

    Julia serves as the co-leader of Beyond the Headlines (BTH). With a background in environmental policy, Julia is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Global Affairs, specializing in Environmental Studies at the University of Toronto. Her work as a Policy Analyst at the Environmental Working Group focuses on climate adaptive policy, renewable energy, and ecological innovation. Julia's previous experience includes roles as an External Corporate Relations Consultant at the World Bank and a Production Assistant at NBC News in Paris. Fluent in French and experienced in media production, Julia brings a unique perspective to BTH, where she uses her platform to advocate for sustainability and community-driven environmental change.
